Diesel price hiked by Rupees 5 per litre,no change in petrol prices this is a decision taken After the meeting of Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs on Thursday.Diesel price will increase by 5 rupees per litre from today night after 12pm.diesel price has been hiked by the government after 14 months. price of petrol, LPG and kerosene will not be changed.

Price hike first and fore most effect common people who are using Diesel.so common people as well as many political parties like Mulayam Singh Yadav and Mamata Banerjee demanded for the role back of the price rise in diesel.

 West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee said, "We want rollback. I am shocked. The matter is very serious and sensitive; we can't compromise with the people's issue. We will discuss in our party meeting and our plan of action. We know the economic crisis we are with the government but enough is enough.

Why govermnet has increased Diesel price by Rupees 5 per litre?

Government has increased Diesel price by Rupees 5 per litre as according to Indian government that By increasing the price of Diesel 5 rupees they can reduce the under-recovery condition of oil companies like Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum by around Rs 20,300 crore. According to government they have a loss of Rs. 17 per litre on diesel , Rs. 32.7 per litre on kerosene and Rs. 347 per cylinder on LPG every day.This make total loss of around Rs. 550 crore everyday by state oil marketing companies.
