IPL 5:Pune Warriors India defeated the Chennai Super Kings by 7 wicket.

Pune with Ryder and Smith beat Chennai by seven wickets

16th game of the Indian Premier League 2012 was played between Chennai Super Kings and Pune Warriors India are at the Subrata Roy Sahara Stadium.MS Dhoni has won the toss and Chennai Super Kings will bat first.

Two changes which Chennai Super Kings make was Nuwan Kulasekara and Yo Mahesh have been given a chance in place of Doug Bollinger and Shadab Jakati which don't goes in the favour of chennai super kings.and in Pune Warriors India Murali Kartik has came back into the side in place of Manish Pandey.


Match was started with a over from Murli Kartik who bowl superbly in first over just giving 1 run.Till the first 6 over chennai was playing fine with a 43/0 and one over of nehra gone for 18.Chennai lost its first wicket in 6.1 over Murli vijay easy catch by Dinda bowl by Mathews.Francosis du Plessis, top run getter in this ipl 5 gave a good start and scored 43 off just 33 balls.Francosis du Plessis have got Orange Cap as he is top run scorer in this ipl5 till now.


Today pune showed actually a very clever bowling - they've read this wicket well and haven't allowed two pace bowlers to bowl together. The slowies have stopped the CSK batsmen from getting the run rate up, and with some success too.


Du Plessis and Jadeja got quick 40s to help Chennai get 155/5 was the decent score from Chennai but the acceleration never came towards the end, although they did score 41 in the last five overs. Rahul Sharma bowled well for his couple of wickets.


Match started with Robin Uthappa on strike and Jesse Ryder at the non-striker's end and Nuwan Kulasekara to start the over.Start was not much good for Pune Warriors India as they lost RV Uthappa run out on 10.After that Captain of Pune warriors Sourav Ganguly off side king started his innings in his own style ball coming Outside the off-stump and he drives that gracefully through the covers for four's.


During the match there is a fight between Marlon Samuels and yo mahesh but samules was not able to give away a reply and was out on bad delivery and was out on the bowling of Mahesh after facing 15 deliveries.

But the young allrounder Steven Smith, of Australia came and create the path and took the Pune to victory. He played nice shots . At the last over Pune needed 10 runs. Steven Smith had the strike with him and dhoni gives the bowl to Yo mahesh and smith finish the match in a elegant way hitting first bowl for four and second for a six.Finally pune won this match by 7 wickets.

Question in mind:-

when Morkel had two overs and Bravo had a over and he has bowl previous over nicely then why Dhoni gave the ball to yo mahesh.
why to drop Doug Bollinger as he has played superbly.


Manish Pandey did well for RCB while batting at the top. Now he is being under-used by being sent at 6 or 7. As soon as he failed in a couple of games, he is dropped.

Sourav Ganguly said that "It was good, great cricketing pitch. When you win against a team like Chennai you get a buzz. Proud of the way the bowlers bowled, Ashish Nehra and Ashok Dinda did a good job. Smith has improved immensely from what I had seen last".


MS Dhoni said that "It was even-steven, but our execution wasn't good, we have struggled in the first six and the last few overs. Just wanted to check who wanted to bowl, asked YoMi whether he wanted to bowl and he looked positive, so threw him the ball. That is how you learn."
